If you haven’t noticed yet, WordPress just upgraded to 2.7.1. Lot of fixes with 2.7 issues. Here is a full list of changes. And yes, upgrading is just easy as never before.. a simple click and then you are done.

I am new to this. I love the theme, but would to change the colors. I have gone through the CSS, but can’t find bg colors. Is it asking too much for a pointer? Thanks.
There is a CSS folder.. inside that default.php (all colors are there
)
Good Luck and Thanks!
Thanks, Chandra, but I found a default.css and the two other color themes, but no default.php. I did poke around but I don’t understand CSS well enough to figure out what is referring to what. I’ll just stick with what you have. Don’t want to bug you.
Hey Bob,
Sorry I did meant default.css..
If you use firefox, you can download firebug component and change things over… I have tried to make it simple so all color setting are on one file.. but to newbies, it might be lil complicating.
Thanks,
Chandra
Thanks, Chandra. I have heard about Firebug and will give it a shot. Can I add my own css file to template’s css folder? Do I need to link to it on a php page? You’re wonderful to help a stranger. /Bob
Chandra,
I am really enjoying your theme. I get many compliments on it.
I do have a question regarding one issue that I am having. When a comment is posted, the comment is printed in bold instead of regular type. Is there a way to change this?
Also I have noticed that when I reply to a comment, it sometimes prints in bold and at other times prints in regular font.
Finally, again with comments, several readers have told me that they have difficulty formatting their comment. (One woman tried to include a poem and and all the lines collapsed into one paragraph.
Thanks,
Jim Martin
Hi Chandra! First let me say thanks for the very useful wordpress theme. I’m new to wordpress and blogs in general so please excuse my ignorance. But if I wanted to place an ad on the left side of the blog, where would I put the code? What about placing an ad above the first blog entry?
Thank you.
Thanks Brad. You will have to play around with codes.
Try pasting the ad code after
on index.php
Hello Chandra!
I would like to translate your theme (simplex) to brazilian portuguese. Is it possible?
If yes, how could we handle this? I do not know too much about PHP…
Kind regards,
André Oliveira
Hi Andre,
Yes, please go ahead with translation if you know how to. I have no idea on that yet.
Thanks,
Chandra
Hi Chandra,
I’m really enjoying your theme! Wondering if there’s a way to add a second sidebar in the simplex theme?
Many Thanks!
Hi Chandra,
SimpleX is a great theme. I’m setting it up now for a group of bloggers at our upcoming annual conference. I can’t seem to find a way to embed images through the GUI. My bloggers will no doubt want to have this functionality. Can anyone assist? Does the embed image button only appear once you have something in the LIbrary? I’m trying to fix permissions at the moment.
Thanks, Tim
Thanks Tim, The Embed an image button should come up by default in WordPress admin. So, it should be really easy to embed images.
I guess it should say 2.8 instead of 2.7?
Yes of course it should say 2.8.2. But it still better to stay with 2.7 because 2.8 has upgrade issues, install is fine but you can’t login afterwards.. carefull
