FREE Theme: Cleanr 0.1 alpha

screenshot Okay that was way too quick for an announcement I guess, when I had already mentioned that it might be ready in a few weeks on the previous post. But what the heck! I am just too excited sometimes and wanted to give the new theme away instead of putting in the back-burner and only releasing it when everything is ready.

But wait, lets not hurry and click the download link yet. I have few things to mention:

  1. Cleanr is STILL IN DEVELOPMENT phase.
  2. This is only an ALPHA release meaning it is NOT TESTED FULLY and some things are bound to be broken somewhere.
  3. One particular is sub pages / sub categories etc.
  4. The menu will only work for ONE LEVEL MENU. If you have sub menus, DONT USE it.
  5. If you already have a working theme, DON’T MIGRATE to Cleanr. 
  6. If you have all the time and setting / experimenting with new theme and new blog then you can use Cleanr on your local server, test everything and then if everything looks okay, make it live.
  7. Cleanr is only tested with Safari, Firefox. Not yet tested with IE.

With all that mentioned (Yes, I know you probably wouldn’t want to download it), I would like to present you Cleanr. Download zipped version here. Happy downloading!! I would love any feedback on this theme.

I will be working on a few things that needs fixing and then testing on all the browsers. I have a few theme options in mind for now which I will integrate. Other than that, I see a Cleanr PRO version coming along which will have a lot of things changeable – theme options, widgets all over and make your site look completely different (from just the default), etc. But you will have to wait. :)

        Great theme, I like simple theme, and have it installed on one of my website.

        So how do you select and change the headers and colors ?

    Thanks for creating this, and I too am looking forward to a final release.. I would really love to use this theme, but it really doesn’t play nice with IE (what does?)..

    but so far in IE, I’ve noticed.

    the comment meta data on single post shoots into the right sidebar
    and with thumbnails for excerpts, in IE, the thumbnail jumps to a new line with the text underneath
    and the H2 in single post is out of alignment.

    I will have a go at fixing these myself, but I’m not that great with code, and css. but I really love this theme, so I can’t wait for a final release

    Hi there,
    Ok, I’ll wait for the final release. I’m still very much attached to my SimpleX theme! I have one question. I’ve received some feedback on my blog and most say that I should change my header, maybe add a logo. Is there a way for me to add my logo to replace the dark grey background and my blog’s name in plain text in the header?

    I tried Cleanr and SimpleX and I ended up using SimpleX. Just discovered that I can change colours on it tonight. But the default is my favourite. I hope you keep updating it. I looked for just the right theme for a long time. :)

    I love the blog. However, my Adsense plugin for the side bar is not working, but the posting content is working. Just thought I’d let you know.

    Hi, wrote earlier that my adsense plugin doesn’t work in the sidebar. And it still doesn’t on my home page, but on specific postings it does show. Hmmmm….. well, I just wanted to let you know for reference.

    oh ya, and the typing about rss feeds, comments, and pingbacks shoves the initial commentor’s comments to the right. So, I took it out and now the comments are centered.

    But in all, I love theme.

    I noticed that the padding around an image isn’t large enough, however, when ever I try to make slight changes to the css I get no results. Am I missing something? Can you point me in the right direction in the code?

    hi, I love the themes,
    specially simplex.
    am testing out cleanr and found that navigation bunch up on the right hand side, so i tweaked it a bit so that the navigation goes under the blog title hehe.

    It’s a great theme. And I really like it.
    But It seems can’t work with Lightbox2 plugin right now.Using and waiting for update:)
