First thing that I came to know of while working with WordPress. I will probably encounter a few more later as I continue working on it. You can share yours!
Anyway, the thing is WordPress is so easy to install and the structure is so easy to work with most of us probably can mess up real bad at times. There are a lot of plugins you can download or make you own. And because WordPress is so popular (over 6 million downloads of WordPress Coltrane and its not even a month), you can find virtually all the features you require for a site. There seems to be every plugin you can think of.
So, you just grab all those you need and start installing it. Great it works all well.
Here is what you will need to consider though. Plugins use a LOT of scripts and it becomes worse if it uses javascripts. I have found people trying to install 15 different plugins all requiring to load external/internal javascripts and hell the site becomes extremely slow. The question is – Do you really need all those plugins? I don’t have all the patience to wait for a site to take all that time to load. Worst thing is I am on a slower network and it sucks!
Heres another thing you can easily get caught into. Most of the plugins which use JavaScript use all the available JavaScript frameworks – Scriptaculous, MooTools, jQuery, etc. It depends on who built the plugin and what he is comfortable with. I recently tried this one and oh boy wasn’t I lost for a time being.
These frameworks do not go well with each other. If a plugin uses scriptaculous and another uses mootools or jquery, you simply get caught in their wars. One of your plugins simply will stop functioning and god knows what else it will affect.
The moral is be careful on what plugin you choose to install and make sure they work with each other well.
I hope you save some time after reading this.

Hi Chandra Maharzan,
great wordpress theme, great blog. Good luck in your blogging and in your business.
What do you use plugin for image alongside post?
Thank you for informations.
Hi Janda,
Thanks.
Its not a plugin. I just upload an image and float it to the left. I have set (customized) the thumbnail size from Settings -> Media menu. Its simple!
Happy new year btw,
Chandra
